ARGENTINIAN SUPERMODEL DANIELA URZI IS A LOT MORE THAN A BEAUTIFUL FACE: SHE'S ALSO A KICK-ASS PHOTOGRAPHER. SO AWESOME IN FACT THAT SHE JUST LANDED A DEAL WITH POWERHOUSE BOOKS FOR HER OWN ANTHOLOGY OF PHOTOGRAPHY WORK. Edited by Paul Bruno
DIRTY: HOW DID YOU ARRIVE AT AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHY AS A STYLE / SUBJECT?
DANIELA URZI: I always travel because of work, being in a plane became part of my life. And I'm a curious person. I love to look out the window and see all the beautiful landscaping, so many years ago I began taking pictures on the plane.
D: WHAT'S ONE OF YOUR FAVORITE PLACES THAT YOU'VE SHOT FROM THE AIR?
DU: I love the Bahamas from above the color of the Caribbean water is unlike anything.
D: WHAT DO YOU SHOOT WITH?
DU: Right now with a Nikon D90. But some of the pictures of the book are from a pocket camera I had, and before that pocket with film... that's the nice thing of the book is that they are pictures from all different times of my life.
D: DO YOU WORK IN ANY OTHER MEDIUMS OTHER THAN PHOTOGRAPHY?
DU: I am also a painter. I paint on very large canvases

D: HOW DOES YOUR CULTURE/UPBRINGING INFLUENCE YOUR WORK?
DU: I was born and raised in a small town outside of Buenos Aires, very humble. I think that's what is keeping me with my feet in the ground and to have the appreciation of what is surrounding me all the time.
D: WHAT IS YOUR EARLIEST MEMORY OF BEING PHOTOGRAPHED?
DU: The first time a photographer took pictures of me, I was 16 years old . I was nervous and my grand mother came to the shoot...I knew that it was the beginning of a new destiny for me.
D: IS ANYONE ELSE IN YOUR FAMILY INVOLVED IN THE ARTS?
DU: My father is a painter & he makes really nice art work... that's why I like to paint too, I think.
D: HOW DID YOU CELEBRATE AFTER YOUR FIRST BIG MODELING JOB?
DU: My first big modeling job was YSL, in Paris (perfume), this happened on my first month being in Paris, so I didnt know many people to celebrate with...

D: WHAT WAS THE FIRST CONCERT YOU EVER WENT TO?
DU: Madonna in Las Vegas, 4 years ago. It was amazing.
D: WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 10 YEARS?
DU: It's hard to say, but my dream is to have success with the photography and have a beautiful family.
D: WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO PUBLISH A BOOK?
DU: Thanks to my friend and agent Carlos Paz who believed it to be something more than a personal project. That my idea wasn't so crazy... he helped me find a publisher and has guided me through the whole process… and I will be thankful always for that.
D: WHEN DOES YOUR BOOK COME OUT?
DU: In September — Can't wait!
